Book Review: The Perfect Ruse (A Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thriller—Book Twenty-Five)

As a lover of suspenseful thrillers, I was intrigued by The Perfect Ruse (A Jessie Hunt Psychological Suspense Thriller—Book Twenty-Five) by Blake Pierce. Having never read any of the previous books in this series, I was worried that I’d struggle to understand the plot or characters, but Pierce does an excellent job of crafting an individual story that stands alone.

The book follows FBI agent Jessie Hunt as she investigates a string of murders with links to her past. As the story unfolds, we see her relationships tested and her skills put to the limits.

One of my favorite aspects of this novel is how well-paced it is. The plot moves quickly, with each chapter leaving you hungry for more information. However, it never feels rushed, and the characters are given ample time to develop.

Speaking of characters, Pierce does an excellent job with them as well. Jessie Hunt is a complex protagonist who feels real and relatable despite her extraordinary circumstances. Additionally, the supporting cast is equally well-drawn and plays crucial roles in driving the plot forward.

The author’s writing style is engaging and enjoyable to read. It flows smoothly, making it easy to get lost in the story.

While there were some predictable moments in The Perfect Ruse, overall it was an enjoyable read packed full of twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end. I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a psychological thriller that’s both thrilling and emotionally satisfying.
