Book Review: The Truth about Style

As a book critic, I recently had the pleasure of reading The Truth about Style by Stacy London. This book not only provides great advice on how to dress but also delves into the psychological and emotional impact that our clothing has on us.

Stacy London, who is the co-host of the popular show “What Not to Wear,” invites readers to explore their personal style while also offering practical tips for finding clothes that fit and flatter. From assessing your body shape to learning how to shop smart, this book covers everything you need to know about looking your best.

One of the standout features of The Truth about Style is Stacy London’s relatable and honest approach. She shares her own struggles with body image and self-esteem, which makes her advice all the more powerful. Her insights into how clothing can affect our confidence and mood are eye-opening, and she offers practical exercises for readers to do at home.

Another impressive aspect of this book is its inclusivity. Stacy London encourages readers of all ages, sizes, and genders to embrace their unique style. She emphasizes that fashion should be fun and empowering, rather than something that makes us feel inadequate or insecure.

Overall, The Truth about Style is an engaging read that combines practical fashion tips with thought-provoking insights into how our clothing affects our emotions and self-perception. Whether you’re a fashionista or someone who just wants to feel more confident in their clothes, this book is definitely worth checking out.

The writing style is fun and authentic and there are great visuals to go along with each story. While I couldn’t relate to each and every woman in the book, I did find several I really identified with and picked up some great tid bits from the other. This is a book I’ll always keep around to go back to when I’m feeling lost style wise.
