Book Review: Best Life

As I picked up Best Life, I was captivated by the stunning cover art that promised to deliver on what the title suggested. Written by Rodale, Inc, this 170-page book is a collection of inspiring stories and insights that aim to guide readers towards living their best life.

The book is divided into five sections that cover topics ranging from health and fitness to relationships and career. Each section delves deep into the subject matter with snippets of advice from various experts in their respective fields.

What I appreciated about Best Life was how it felt like a conversation with a wise mentor rather than a preachy self-help book. The anecdotes and real-life examples shared within the pages made me feel seen and heard, which made the advice all the more impactful.

One of my favorite sections was on self-care; it was refreshing to see an emphasis on taking care of oneself without feeling guilty or selfish. The chapter “Take Care Of Your Mind” really resonated with me; it hammered home the point that mental health is just as important as physical wellbeing.

However, there were moments where I found myself questioning certain pieces of advice given. For example, in the chapter on money management, there was very little discussion around privilege and access to resources – something that’s essential to consider when talking about personal finance.

Overall, Best Life is an easy-to-read book that provides thought-provoking insights into how one can live their best life. While it may not have all the answers, it certainly offers a starting point for anyone seeking direction in life. On a scale of one to ten, I’d give this book an eight for its engaging writing style and valuable insights.
